DVD's I enjoy

  • Columbia/Tri-Star 1959: The Mouse that Roared!
A great little ant-war movie with Peter Sellers and Jean Seberg. The Grand Dutchy of Fenwick declares war on the US in order to loose and receive aid. One catch... they win... Very funny. (*****)
  • MGM/UA 1968: Yellow Submarine
A strange wonderful film with the Beatles saving Pepperland from the Blue Meanies! All together now!... (****)
  • Warner Brothers: The Adventures of Robin Hood
This is the 2 disc DVD. Errol Flyn, Olivia deHavland, Basil Rathbone and Claud raines. This is the difinitive version of the story. Great fencing also. (*****)
  • Ernest Hemingway: To Have and Have Not
A Howard Hawks production, Warner Brothers. Bogart & Bacall. Its her first.... what a great picture. This is the film with the Bacall line " ... you do know how to whistle don't you Steve? You just put your lips together and blow..." DVD has geat commentary track and a WB Cartoon Bacall to Arms, A classic! (*****)
  • Warner Brothers: Looney Toons Golden Collection
A great collection of 58 classic toons with major commentary by those who made them. Great for a film class. (*****)
